Person
Nimrod
Also: Ninus (CFAH identification)
Son of Cush; "a mighty hunter before the LORD"; "the beginning of his kingdom was Babel" (Gen 10:8–10).
No tier 1-4 dates Nimrod's birth; unsorted (null).
Description
Father Cush (not yet a record). CFAH-2 ("The Founding of the Nations", introduction and Duration 6) identifies Nimrod with Ninus, founder of Assyria after the Dispersion, and later papers equate him with Enmerkar of Uruk and Atothis I of Egypt (CFAH-5/6). Josephus, Antiquities I.4.2 makes Nimrod the instigator of the tower.
