Death of Joshua
Joshua son of Nun dies aged 110 and is buried at Timnath-serah; Israel serves the LORD all his days and the days of the elders who outlived him (Josh 24:29–31; Judg 2:7–9).
Tier 3: Ussher-Jones (F. N. Jones): 1424 BC (no higher-tier year available). Jordan (secondary display) never sets the sort.
Description
Judges-period record added from James B. Jordan's chronology (secondary display) with Ussher, Jones and, where available, CFAH-1 Table 1 dates for sorting. Jordan treats the judgeships as partly overlapping regional sequences (North / Centre / South) fitted to the 480 years of 1 Kgs 6:1 and the 300 years of Judg 11:26.

| Chronology | Date as stated | Year (BC / AM) | Citation & note |
|---|---|---|---|
| CFAH | Not yet established | — | — pending CFAH reference |
| Ussher-Jones | "APPROX YEAR OF JOSHUA'S DEATH AT AGE 110 ... 20 YRS AFTER JOSHUA DIVIDED THE LAND AMONG THE LAST 7 TRIBES AT SHILOH. (1444 BC - 20 = 1424 BC)" Precision: approximate |
1424 BC | Jones, Chart No. 4 "Judges to the First 3 Kings" (© 1993 Floyd Jones; chart text revised "As of 2007"), timeline band (opens in a new tab) Jones, 15th ed. (2002), ch. V p. 94: "1444 – 20 = c.1424 BC (year Joshua died)". Sets sort year |
| Ussher | Not yet established | — | — Ussher gives no year for Joshua's death: §340 (under 2561 AM, 1443 BC) says he lived at Timnath-serah "for many years" and died aged 110; §341 (2591d AM, 1413 BC) begins "After the death of Joshua and the elders who outlived him". Not inferred. |
| Jordan secondary | "2585 - Death of Joshua at 110, assuming he was the same age as Caleb." Precision: conjectural |
AM 2585 | Jordan, From Creation to Solomon (Studies in Biblical Chronology No. 2, Biblical Horizons, Oct. 2001), ch. 11 "The Era of the Judges and the Reign of Saul", p. 51 (opens in a new tab) 2001 revision. Jordan's 1991 list (BC 3:8) has an earlier year; see the second Jordan entry. |
| Jordan secondary | "2585 - Death of Joshua (?)." Precision: conjectural |
AM 2585 | Jordan, "Chronology and Kings (II)," Biblical Chronology 3:8 (August 1991), section "The Judges", summary list (opens in a new tab) 1991 scheme, superseded by Jordan himself in 2001 (Studies in Biblical Chronology No. 2 dates the whole judges sequence 26 years later because he there ends the 300 years of Judg 11:26 when Ammon took the villages, AM 2860, not at Jephthah's victory). Question mark is Jordan's. 2001 keeps 2585. |
| Jordan (compilation) secondary | Joshua - 110 yrs. old, 2584 / 2585 AM, Josh.14:7-10; Jud.2:8, if about Caleb’s age Precision: conjectural |
AM 2584–2585 | Anno Mundi Chronology Studies (unnamed compiler; a compilation of James B. Jordan's system), p. 3, chart "Genesis 12 – 25 Chronology of Abraham’s Life" (opens in a new tab) Page 6 prints "2584 AM Joshua dies, if same age as Caleb, at 110 yrs. old". Differs from Jordan's own published figure(s): AM 2585, 2585. |
| Biblical statements (direct Scripture data) | aged 110 Precision: unknown |
